Holness Says Rebuilt Troy Bridge Restores Rural Access After Storm Damage

Trelawny

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has said the rebuilt Troy bridge gives residents back dependable movement and a measure of respect.

The previous crossing was damaged by Tropical Storm Grace in 2021, creating difficulties for people in the area, with students among those most affected.

At today's official opening of the replacement bridge, Dr. Holness said the structure is expected to serve the community for many years. He added that the project shows rural Jamaicans have not been forgotten, and said work is under way to bring rural communities more fully into the economy.
