

Spur Tree Spices appoints new Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Spur Tree Spices Jamaica has announced the promotion of Rani Badaloo to the directorship in the capacity of Executive Director. The appointment, which was approved by resolution of the Board at its May 14, 2026 meeting, is effective August 5, 2026.
Mrs. Badaloo currently serves as General Manager of the company and has demonstrated strong leadership, operational oversight, and a deep understanding of the company’s business and strategic direction. Through her tenure, Mrs. Badaloo has contributed significantly to operational development, organisational growth, and the advancement of the company’s strategic objectives.
The Board is confident that Mrs. Badaloo’s executive experience, institutional knowledge, and leadership capabilities will further strengthen the Board and support the continued growth and long-term success of the Company. The directorship warmly welcomes Mrs. Badaloo to her new role and looks forward to her continued contribution at the Board level.

JSE Chairman and Deputy Chair appointed
The Jamaica Stock Exchange is advising of the election of Steven Whittingham as Chairman and Steven Gooden as his deputy. The election took place at a meeting of its Board of Directors held May 28, 2026.
Whittingham is the Chief Executive Officer of GraceKennedy Financial Group Limited with overall responsibility for the multinational financial group while Gooden is the Founder and Principal of White River Capital Inc, a private equity and real estate outfit.
Gooden is the former Chief Executive Officer of NCB Capital Markets Ltd, which under his leadership became a leading investment house in the Caribbean, having significantly expanded its footprint via the establishment of strategic hubs in the Cayman Islands, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and Guyana.

Dr. Eileen Chin promoted at two LASCO entities
Dr. Eileen Chin has been promoted Deputy Executive Chairman of Lasco Manufacturing and Lasco Distributors. The appointment in both cases took effect on May 26, 2026.
Born in Havana City, Cuba, Dr. Chin holds a post-graduate degree in medicine from the Havana University School of Medicine. She specialized and taught histology from 1993 to 1998 at the Girón School of Medicine, and migrated to Jamaica in 1998.

VMIL onboards seasoned financial professional, Nsambi Ricketts
VM Investments Limited (VMIL) has announced the appointment of Nsambi Ricketts to its Board of Directors, effective May 27, 2026. Ricketts is a highly accomplished finance and advisory professional with more than 20 years of experience in transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, business valuation, and strategic financial analysis across the Caribbean.
She most recently served as Territorial Partner/Executive Director, Strategy and Transactions/EY Parthenon at Ernst & Young (EY) Services Limited, where she led regional engagements involving financial due diligence, fairness opinions, business valuations, strategic divestments, and financial modelling assignments.
Prior to this role, Ricketts she served as Senior Manager within the firm’s Strategy and Transactions service line. Over the course of her career, Ricketts has advised boards, investors, and executive leadership teams on complex transactions, transformational initiatives, governance matters, and value creation strategies within highly regulated and dynamic business environments.
Before joining EY, Ricketts worked with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in Financial Advisory Services, gaining significant experience in valuation, financial modelling, risk assessment, and merger and acquisition support services. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and an Accredited Business Valuator (ABV).
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The University of the West Indies. VMIL welcomes her to the Board of Directors and looks forward to the insight, expertise, and strategic perspective she will bring to the organisation.
