Mount Salem Police Investigate Death of 3-Year-Old Jasani Stevens

ST JAMES, Jamaica  Jahsani Stevens death investigation — An investigation is underway following the death of a three-year-old girl who was brought to Cornwall Regional Hospital on Sunday night suffering from multiple injuries.

The child has been identified as Jahsani Stevens of Ocean Ridge Street in Paradise, Norwood, St James.

Reports from the police indicate that Jahsani was taken to the hospital by her 20-year-old mother at about 9:19 p.m. Upon arrival, medical personnel observed bruises on the child’s body along with swelling to her forehead.

Despite efforts to assess her condition, the young girl was pronounced dead on arrival.

The investigation is now focused on determining how the child sustained the injuries that led to her death. Detectives are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident as part of ongoing inquiries.

The investigation is being led by the Mount Salem Police.
