Inter Milan rally for 3-3 Serie A draw at Bologna as Diouf strikes late

MILAN, Italy (AFP) — Inter Milan, already crowned Italian double winners, wrapped up their Serie A season with a 3-3 draw away to Bologna after recovering from a two-goal hole.

The result stretched Inter’s unbeaten sequence to 10 matches and left the champions 14 points ahead at the summit, before second-placed Napoli’s Sunday fixture against Udinese.

Andy Diouf rescued Inter in the 87th minute, driving in his first Serie A goal for the club. The former France under-21 player had also helped create the opening for Pio Esposito’s 64th-minute response, beating two Bologna players before his shot came back off the upright.

Esposito converted the loose ball to bring Inter within one. Federico Bernardeschi, Tommaso Pobega and a Piotr Zielinski own goal had put Bologna in control after Federico Dimarco’s superb free-kick had first given Inter the lead.

Bologna ended the campaign eighth, missing out on European qualification.
