Three-Parish Probe After Missing Manchester Woman and Security Guard Found Dead

1 min readSt. Elizabeth

Police teams across Manchester, St Elizabeth and St Ann are working on a major investigation after two bodies were found within hours: missing Manchester resident Kedecia McLeod and security officer Maurice Sennel, who investigators reportedly wanted to interview about her disappearance.

McLeod, 40, had been reported missing on Tuesday, June 9. Her body was located about 9:30 a.m. Thursday in a field at Peppers in St Elizabeth, after a farmer reportedly came across the scene and contacted the police.

Officers spent several hours at the Peppers location while the area was examined and evidence was collected.

Earlier that same day, police in Brown's Town, St Ann, responded to a location where Sennel, 50, was found dead. He had a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators are treating Sennel's death as a suspected suicide. He reportedly sent messages to friends and church groups indicating that he planned to end his life.

A firearm was reportedly recovered close to Sennel's body. It has been taken by police for forensic testing.

Sources said detectives looking into McLeod's disappearance had been trying to speak with Sennel, who was believed to be her partner. He was reportedly listed as a person of interest in the matter.

The two discoveries have led to a joint probe by detectives from the Manchester, St Elizabeth and St Ann police divisions. Police have not yet determined the full circumstances behind either death, and the investigations are continuing.
