Jamaica breaks own World Record to win mixed 4x100m relay

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica struck gold in the Mixed 4x100m relay at the Debswana World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana on Sunday, lowering their own world record set a day earlier with 39.62 seconds.
The same team of Ackeem Blake, Tina Clayton, Kadrian Goldson and Tia Clayton, who had run 39.99 seconds in the first qualifying round, breaking Canada’s previous record, produced a powerful display on Sunday to win the event and confirm their place in the World Athletics Ultimate Championships later this year.
The top six in the final qualified for the first-ever Ultimate Championships set for Budapest, Hungary, which will assemble the best in each event at the end of the season.
