Everyone’s a Winner Best Dressed 5K draws strong early interest, Francis says
Alfred Francis, race director and founder of Running Events, says interest is building for this year’s Everyone’s a Winner Best Dressed 5K, which was formally launched on Wednesday and is scheduled to run off on June 21.
Francis said the response so far has left him encouraged, pointing to what he sees as a broader move toward health and fitness. He also linked the race’s appeal to its recreational and social side, especially among younger adults. According to Francis, people in the 20 to 39 age group have been turning out for races not only to exercise, but also to spend time with others after taking part.
He also urged more people to enter the event. Francis said registration figures had already reached 91,658, while stressing that organisers still want additional participants. He encouraged Jamaicans to support the Everyone’s a Winner event on Father’s Day and to make room for the race in their own schedules.
The event will also carry a charitable purpose, with proceeds going to the Jamaica Society for the Blind. Organisers said they remain committed to maintaining high standards and delivering the event in a way that supports blind and visually impaired persons. They said the work should allow beneficiaries to recognise the effort behind the race and thank those who help the society continue its service.
