Police kill man in downtown Kingston shooting on Beeston Street
A man identified as Davar Dacres was killed in a confrontation with police on Beeston Street in downtown Kingston on Wednesday night, the constabulary has confirmed.
According to the police, the shooting unfolded sometime after 11:00 pm.
Observer Online reports that Dacres was wanted in connection with an earlier incident in which a woman was stabbed to death on Love Lane, a killing said to have been recorded on CCTV.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom) and the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) have taken up enquiries into the fatal shooting.
