Young Jamaica describes as vulgar and inappropriate use of Zuleika Jess’ image on trucks distributing water paid for by the Government of Jamaica

Young Jamaica, the youth arm of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), is describing as inappropriate and vulgar pictures emerging of St. Elizabeth North Eastern Member of Parliament, Zuleika Jess’ image on trucks that have been delivering water under the Government of Jamaica (GOJ)-funded drought mitigation programme.

Under the programme, Members of Parliament are given an allocation by the Government to assist constituents in navigating the drought.

Young Jamaica views the political branding of the trucks, which are delivering water sponsored by the Government of Jamaica, as wholly inappropriate.

As far as Young Jamaica has been reliably made aware, Jess is not in a position to truthfully claim that the water being delivered was privately sponsored either by her or donors.

 Young Jamaica is also concerned at reports that water is being distributed by Ms Jess’ emissaries in a partisan manner, thereby excluding supporters of the JLP.

We call on Jess to ensure this practice is immediately halted and that water is distributed under the Government’s drought mitigation programme in a fair and non-partisan manner.
