St. Ann

Jamaica should continue to experience hazy and windy weather from Saturday night into the middle of next week, with no major shift reported in the wider Caribbean weather setup. A high-pressure system remains in place, winds are still strong, and a thin layer of Saharan dust is expected to move into the central Caribbean basin as the new week begins.

Across the region, scattered mid- to upper-level clouds were noted, while isolated thunderstorms were affecting Cuba. Moisture also continued to build over the western Caribbean. For Jamaica on Saturday night, the forecast called for mainly fair conditions with haze. Temperatures were expected to fall to 27 degrees Celsius in Kingston and 26 degrees Celsius in Montego Bay. Winds of about 10 knots were forecast from the east along both coasts, leaving little land breeze influence.

On Sunday morning, conditions should range from partly cloudy to mostly sunny, with haze still present. By afternoon, most areas are expected to remain partly cloudy and hazy. Kingston is forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius, while Montego Bay should peak near 34 degrees Celsius.

Wind and haze are expected to be more noticeable from May Pen to Mandeville, and across the southwest from Santa Cruz to Negril. Lucea, Montego Bay and Falmouth should also see breezy, hazy conditions. A small chance of showers is forecast, especially around Brown's Town, while St. Ann's Bay, Ocho Rios, Port Maria and Port Antonio should be mostly sunny and hazy.

Golden Spring and Bog Walk are also expected to be windy and hazy. Similar conditions are forecast in western and central communities including Mocho, Christiana, Grange Hill, Duncans and Cave Valley. Haze is expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday, with similar weather likely on Wednesday.
