James Harden hit with misdemeanor weapons charge after 3:41 a.m. stop
NBA standout James Harden was arrested in the early hours of Saturday after a vehicle stop led police to a firearm in his car. According to police, the stop happened at 3:41 a.m., and officers saw a handgun lying on a seat without being fastened in a holster.
Harden was subsequently charged with misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a weapon. He was allowed to leave custody after paying a $100 bond and is slated to go before the court later this month.
Booking images from the process captured Harden wearing a blank look in his mug shot. The Cleveland Cavaliers said they know about the matter and are still seeking more information.
Harden averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists during the past season. He played part of the campaign with Cleveland after moving from the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade. Cleveland's run finished in the Eastern Conference Finals, where the Cavaliers were beaten by the New York Knicks, who went on to win the championship.
