The Jamaica Constabulary Force is grieving the loss of Detective Sergeant Brenton Armstrong, who died in hospital on Thursday night.
Police said Armstrong was at a Corporate Area medical facility when complications arose after he underwent a medical procedure. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the same institution.
The senior officer had spent time assigned to the St Ann's Bay Police Station and, more recently, was serving in the Police Area Two Division.
The Half-Way Tree police are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances.
