JSE Index gains 1,691 points in Tuesday trading

The JSE Index moved higher by 1,691 points on Tuesday, but the Junior Market lost 42 points. Investors traded 114 stocks overall, with 51 closing up, 40 ending lower and 23 unchanged. Kintyre Holdings topped activity, accounting for 43 per cent of total volume.
