JUTC announces changes to its Rural Express Negril service

The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) has announced another change to its Rural Express Service.
Fresh from reducing the frequency of its Ocho Rios service as of last Wednesday, May 20, the public bus company announced adjustments to its Negril service operations, cutting weekday trips.
Effective May 29, the JUTC is shifting its Half-Way-Tree to Negril (Route 520Ex) service to a weekend-only schedule (Fridays through Mondays, while maintaining existing departure times.
Previously, the JUTC reduced the frequency of its Ocho Rios service (Routes 610, 611, and 612). The cutbacks come as a concession to Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) operators who raised displacement and livelihood concerns.
The JUTC stated this is a good faith move to balance the transport sector.
