Khadija Shaw powers Manchester City to maiden Women’s FA Cup and league double
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw helped Manchester City close out a landmark campaign, scoring the first goal in a 4-0 win over Brighton in the Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
The Jamaica striker, who recently agreed a new four-year deal with City, put her team in front in the 38th minute when she headed home to make it 1-0.
Manchester City carried a stronger cushion into half-time after captain Alex Greenwood drove a low free-kick from 20 yards beyond Brighton in stoppage time.
Shaw later turned provider, setting up substitute Aoba Fujino in the 66th minute to leave Brighton with little route back. Vivianne Miedema added the fourth in the 87th minute to finish off the victory.
The win gave City their first domestic double, adding the FA Cup to a Women’s Super League crown secured for the first time in a decade.
