1 min readSt. Catherine

An 80-year-old man was found dead inside his residence in Nase Grove, Kitson Town, St Catherine, on Monday morning, with severe head injuries and signs of advanced decomposition.

The victim has been named as Llascelles Kerr.

Officers say Kerr was last seen alive in the area around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Monday, July 6, his body was discovered on the floor of the house, lying on its side. Police confirmed that Kerr had suffered a blow to the head.

Detectives believe one or more intruders may have forced their way into the dwelling, attacked Kerr, and struck him in the head with a concrete block.

The crime scene was examined and Kerr's remains were taken away for a post-mortem.

The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the inquiry.
