Corinaldi Avenue, St James VMF Under-13 준결승 경쟁 선도

3연속 디펜딩 챔피언 Corinaldi Avenue Primary가 오늘 WesPow Park에서 열리는 St James Football Association/Victoria Mutual Foundation Under-13 토너먼트 준결승에서 결승 진출을 노리는 네 전 우승팀 가운데 하나로 나선다.

세 시즌 동안 패배가 없는 무패 챔피언 Corinaldi Avenue Primary는 오전 10:00 개막전에서 2017년 우승팀 John Rollins Success Primary와 맞붙는다. 두 번째 준결승에서는 6회 우승팀 Catherine Hall Primary가 두 차례 정상에 오른 Anchovy Primary를 오전 11:30에 상대한다.

두 경기의 승자는 역시 WesPow Park에서 열릴 예정인 금요일 결승에 진출한다.

Corinaldi Avenue와 Anchovy Primary는 1라운드 조에서 1위를 차지했고, Catherine Hall Primary와 John Rollins Success Primary는 각 조 2위로 8강에 올랐다. Corinaldi Avenue는 또한 지난 두 시즌 동안 정규 시즌 실점 없는 기록을 지켜왔다.

2시즌 연속 대회 득점 선두인 Riomario Powell은 5월 14일 Flankers Primary와의 8강전에서 4-0 승리의 네 골을 모두 넣으며 Corinaldi Avenue를 준결승으로 이끌었다. 이 활약으로 그의 시즌 득점은 13골로 늘었다.

Anchovy Primary도 5월 14일 Nathaniel Smith의 21분 결승골로 Granville Primary를 1-0으로 꺾고 준결승 진출권을 확보했다.

다음 날 John Rollins Success Primary는 Ozaine Henry가 40분에 결승골을 넣어 Irwin Primary를 1-0으로 제쳤다. 이어 Catherine Hall Primary는 정규시간 무득점 경기 후 승부차기에서 5-3으로 승리하며 높은 평가를 받던 Barracks Road Primary를 놀라게 했다.
