Kranium Lands Second US Gold Plaque as We Can Crosses Half-Million RIAA Mark
Dancehall recording artist Kranium has added another US milestone to his catalogue. On Monday, June 29, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified We Can — his track with Canadian singer and rapper Tory Lanez — as gold after combined sales and streaming activity pushed the release past 500,000 units.
The distinction marks Kranium's second RIAA gold award. His earlier single Nobody Has to Know reached the same threshold in September 2019.
We Can was co-produced by Grammy-winning producer Shama 'Sak Pase' Joseph and DJ-producer Marley Waters. Joseph currently holds an executive role at the Empire record label.
Sharing the achievement on social media, Kranium wrote, "I walk the way I walk because the numbers reflect that! Another certified gold in America #history big up the supporters and all DJs and my brother @sakpase365 and @officialmarleywaters producers."
Kranium's commercial footprint has been even stronger in the United Kingdom. The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) has certified four of his singles there.
My One, a collaboration with Wiley, Tory Lanez and Dappy, received silver status in 2020. We Can and Gal Policy both earned silver certifications in 2023. Nobody Has to Know was awarded UK gold in January of this year.
