A three-member household from Gayle, St Mary, has made history as the first champions of the Supligen Big Boost Games, securing the $1-million top award after enduring a continuous 50-hour contest of stamina, cooperation and resolve.
Team Phoenix — 36-year-old mother Monique Brown Ramharrack, her 19-year-old daughter Tanique Dunn, and 19-year-old nephew Rushane Williams — prevailed against 49 other squads. The event opened at 7:25 p.m. last Thursday and ran without pause through Saturday.
Second place went to Team Vanguards, the trio of content creators Tyewhan Eduh, 22; Jevar Henry, 30; and T’wayne Graham, 22.
In the pioneering format, each three-person side had to keep unbroken physical contact with the signature Supligen Cup while tackling tasks meant to probe power, coordination and mental toughness across the full 50 hours.
For the victors, the win means more than cash. Tanique intends to put her portion toward university studies overseas later this year, and Rushane aims to chase his goal of becoming a military officer.
Their path into the field was unusually tight. After Tanique spotted a social media notice about the Big Boost Games, she rounded up her mother and cousin with under a day to ready themselves, then travelled from St Mary to Kingston for the contest. Even so, Team Phoenix leaned on faith, unity and grit to see the ordeal through. Rushane said he used one bathroom break to pray, and Monique stayed up overnight so the group’s hold on the Supligen Cup never slipped.
“This million-dollar win is not for me, it’s for them,” said Brown Ramharrack. “Tanique has always dreamt of studying overseas, and Rushane also has plans for his future. Now we have a head start on making those dreams a reality,” she said.
Brown Ramharrack said the side brushed close to elimination more than once, yet held confidence, drew on faith, deepened their family bond and kept concentration until the finish. “We trusted God, worked together as a family and stayed focused until the very end.”
Deidra Grey, brand manager for Supligen, saluted every entrant’s dedication and stamina, explaining that the fixture marked the brand’s 50th anniversary and underscored principles long tied to Supligen’s identity. “Watching the resilience, teamwork and determination displayed by every competitor over the past 50 hours was truly inspiring,” Grey said.
