Sean Paul’s European Timeless Tour Underscores Dancehall’s Worldwide Pull
Sean Paul’s Timeless Tour pulled sizeable audiences across Europe, adding fresh evidence of dancehall’s reach beyond Jamaica. The run took his catalogue of hits into several markets, with shows staged in Bulgaria, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Germany and France, along with other territories.
Crowd sizes varied from theatres holding about 4,000 patrons to festival platforms drawing an estimated 35,000 to 40,000 people a day. The tour’s strong response came during another standout stretch for the Grammy-winning entertainer.
Earlier this year, Sean Paul secured his first RIAA Diamond certification for his role on Sia’s international hit “Cheap Thrills”, making him the first Jamaican artist with a Diamond-certified single in the United States.
He is also listed at No. 34 on Spotify’s Global Top 100 Artists by Monthly Listeners, the only Jamaican act on that ranking. The chart reflects artists’ current monthly reach and sustained listening activity across the platform worldwide.
