MLS Opens Tampering Probe Into Inter Miami Casemiro Deal
Major League Soccer has opened an inquiry into whether Inter Miami improperly approached Brazilian midfielder Casemiro before completing his transfer.
The midfielder, a five-time UEFA Champions League champion, has signed with the current MLS title holders following an agreement with LA Galaxy that resolved outstanding discovery-rights claims tied to the player.
League officials confirmed the review is under way and said they will not discuss the case further while the investigation continues.
Casemiro, formerly of Real Madrid and Manchester United, remains without a visa and has yet to appear for Inter Miami.
