Clarendon Mineral Heights–Lionel Town Road Temporarily Reopened After Collapse
The National Works Agency reports that crews have carried out emergency work to temporarily reopen a section of the Mineral Heights to Lionel Town main road in Clarendon that had given way.
A cavity measuring more than six metres across and four metres deep, close to Vere Technical High School, had forced traffic onto a single lane until workers rebuilt the embankment.
The agency is asking drivers to move carefully through the area, as lasting repairs have not yet been completed.
NWA engineers are examining what caused the failure and have observed that the location has no known drainage system.
