Jamaica road fatalities reach 105 as ITA reports sharp 2026 decline

Jamaica's road death tally stood at 105 on May 22, based on the latest collision data from the Island Traffic Authority (ITA).

The agency said the figure is still 28 per cent lower than the comparable point in 2025, representing 41 fewer people killed on the nation's roads.

Those deaths came from 94 crashes in which at least one person died, with that count also reduced by 28 per cent year over year. Since January, men have made up 84 per cent of the fatalities, while women accounted for 16 per cent.
