Police name three killed in Mandeville gunfight, recover two guns

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force has released the identities of a woman and two men killed in an alleged exchange of gunfire on Caledonia Road in Mandeville on Saturday afternoon. The dead are Lester Morris, Travis Baker and Sutania Boothe, also known as “Chun Chun”. Officers reported that two firearms were recovered in connection with the confrontation.

According to police, a series of robberies was reported at about 4:00 pm, prompting them to stop a fleeing vehicle close to Horseshoe Curve. A senior police source indicated that those inside the stopped car fired on officers, who shot back. What followed was an extended stand-off that spilled into a running gunfight.

Police said Boothe, Morris and Baker were removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital, where medical staff declared them dead on arrival.

The clash took place near the spot of a double killing the previous Saturday, in which nursing student Deenekia Pounall and Sadefa Henry were shot dead in a taxi by an assailant who had boarded posing as a passenger.
