Reports are that about 5:00 a.m. Constable Davy was driving a silver Toyota Premio motor car along the highway when upon reaching in the vicinity of Swansea, he lost control of the vehicle which overturned into a ditch.

In a statement, the Jamaica Constabulary Force said Constable Davy will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
The force said it mourns the loss of a valued member whose service reflected courage and devotion to duty.
The JCF’s Chaplaincy Services Branch, Medical Services Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to the relatives and colleagues of Constable Davy.
The crash involving the policeman is one of two recorded by PSTEB between yesterday and today.
The other incident occurred at about 1:40 a.m. yesterday along the Bernard Lodge Main Road in the vicinity of Quarry Hill in St. Catherine.
A 37-year-old man was killed in that crash.
