Agriculture Ministry Expands Livestock Tagging to Curb Praedial Larceny
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining is rolling out expanded measures to strengthen Jamaica's livestock sector through improved animal identification and tracking.
Under the plan, the ministry will deploy additional animal technicians, recruit community assistants and increase the supply of cattle tags nationwide.
Officials say the stepped-up programme is intended to improve service delivery, clear the current tagging backlog, safeguard farmers' livelihoods and bolster national efforts to curb praedial larceny.
