Parliament to Table Integrity Commission Report on Minister Wheatley's Assets and Declarations

The House of Representatives is expected to table an Integrity Commission report on government minister and Member of Parliament Dr. Andrew Wheatley this afternoon.

According to a notice laid before the chamber, the document arises from a commission investigation into concerns that Dr. Wheatley, during the period 2010 to 2022, "owns/acquired assets disproportionate to his lawful earnings, made false statements in his statutory declarations, and failed to provide information requested from him by the Director of Information and Complaints, contrary to law."

The report's contents and any recommendations flowing from the commission's probe are expected to be released once the document has been formally tabled.

Dr. Wheatley previously resigned from the Cabinet in 2018 amid controversy over the management of contracts and procurement arrangements at the state-owned Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ).
