Jamaica hockey squads depart for CAC Games in Santo Domingo
Jamaica’s men’s and women’s hockey teams left the island on Thursday for the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Jamaica Hockey Federation named 18 women and 18 men for the 14-day multi-sport event, along with a 12-member technical staff.
Contingent technical director Dr. Michelle Holt told TVJ Sports she is confident in the sides selected for Santo Domingo.
“Of course, we have some youngsters in the mix with a very, very strong team with a lot of experience from past CAC Games. So, very, very satisfied with the quality of the players,” Holt said.
The women open against Cuba on Sunday. The men meet Cuba in their first match on Monday.
Jamaica will also have officials at the Games, with Adrian Cross appointed as an umpire and Damien Fuller as a technical officer.
