Belgium have lost midfielder Amadou Onana for the rest of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after he suffered a serious knee injury.
The 24-year-old came off in the 19th minute of Belgium's 4-1 Round of 16 victory over the United States on Monday, having hurt his right knee.
In a statement, the Belgian Football Association said team doctors found that Onana had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), ending his tournament early.
The Aston Villa F.C. player is also likely to miss the opening stages of the next Premier League season while he recovers.
Onana had appeared in all four of Belgium's World Cup matches and was making his second start of the competition against the United States when the injury happened.
