80-year-old Llascelles Kerr found dead at Kitson Town home in suspected break-in attack
An 80-year-old resident of Nase Grove in Kitson Town, St Catherine, was found dead inside his dwelling on Monday, with signs of a violent attack to his head.
Police have named the victim as Llascelles Kerr.
Officers say Kerr was last observed in the area around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
Early Monday, July 6, at roughly 8:15 a.m., his remains were discovered on the floor of the house. Kerr was lying on his side and appeared to have suffered blunt-force trauma to the head. The body had begun to decompose.
Detectives believe one or more intruders may have forced their way into the property, attacked Kerr, and struck him in the head with a concrete block.
Crime scene specialists processed the location before Kerr's remains were taken away for a post-mortem.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is handling the inquiry.
