Main Event Entertainment posts $111.1m half-year loss as revenue slides
Main Event Entertainment Group sank into the red for the half-year ending April 30, posting a net loss of $111.1 million after earning $64.3 million in the same period last year.
The entertainment and production firm said revenue contracted by 47 per cent year-on-year to $472.8 million. In the second quarter, sales were down 15 per cent. The company attributed the weaker showing to the continued impact of Hurricane Melissa, higher operating expenses and tougher competition across entertainment and promotions.
