St Elizabeth farmer killed in Bethsalem machete attack after property clash

Officers in St Elizabeth are trying to find a man wanted in connection with a killing that happened during an argument at White Hall Square in Bethsalem on Friday.

The victim has been named as Radcliffe Alcock, 61, a farmer from White Hall. According to reports, at about 3:15 p.m. the wanted man went to a shop and challenged another man over land tied to his family. The exchange grew heated, and the two ended up in a physical fight.

The assailant was overpowered and left the area, but he is said to have come back a short time later carrying a machete. Alcock moved toward him to try to settle things down. The man chopped him in the face.

Alcock, badly hurt, was taken to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The blade was taken from the attacker during the struggle, and he then ran from the scene.
