
Authorities in Spanish Town, St Catherine, have opened enquiries after a man died in hospital on Sunday night, roughly a day after he was taken from a gully in grave condition.
The victim has been named as 36-year-old Orane Goldbourne, a labourer of Tawes Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
According to reports, shortly after 4 a.m. on Saturday, persons passing through the area found Goldbourne in a gully in his community. He had an injury to the back of his head.
He was taken to Spanish Town Hospital for care and died there about 10 p.m. on Sunday while still receiving treatment.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is carrying out an investigation into the matter.
