Unbeaten Manchester Spurs Set Pace as Red Stripe Elite Netball Semifinals Begin Friday
Friday brings the Red Stripe Elite Netball semifinals to the National Indoor Sports Centre, and Manchester Spurs step in as the side every opponent must reckon with after a spotless preliminary run.
The Spurs claimed first place with four victories from four outings, dictating tempo on offence and defence across the round. They netted a competition-best 230 goals and surrendered only 169, closing the preliminary stage on a plus-61 differential.
National players Kimone Shaw and Shanice Beckford are expected to carry much of the load as Manchester push for back-to-back final appearances.
The opening semifinal pits Manchester against St. Ann Orchids at 6:00 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., title holders Kingston Hummingbirds meet St. Catherine Racers for the remaining place in the championship match.
