Government asks Hurricane Melissa families to wait as container housing process continues
The Government is urging people affected by Hurricane Melissa to give the process more time as they wait on promised modular container houses.
Robert Montague, the minister responsible for Land Settlements, made the request today during his Sectoral Debate presentation. His comments followed rising complaints from residents who lost their homes in Hurricane Melissa last October, along with criticism from the Opposition.
Montague said the administration is still moving through official procedures. He also said the delays show why the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority, NARRA, is needed.
