Molynes, Chapelton advance in Popeye's Challenge Cup third round
Round three of the 2026 Popeye's Challenge Cup opened across three venues, with Jamaica Premier League clubs taking the advantage over JFF Championship opponents in the matches completed so far.
Soccer Club Browns Town, still coming off a penalty shootout loss to Tumble IFC in the JFF Championship playoffs, exited the cup after a 2-1 defeat to Molynes United at Drax Hall. Rashon Livingston put Molynes ahead in the eighth minute before Tyreek Wilson added another in the 51st. Rivaldo Walters pulled one back for Browns Town in the 59th minute, but it was only a consolation.
Reno FC, another Championship team that missed out on Premier League promotion after a penalty loss to Tru-Juice FC, also fell to top-flight opposition. Chapelton Maroons beat Reno 3-1, with Jordan Britto, Zayn Pinock and Bliss Nelson scoring for Chapelton. Everton Blackwood had given Reno a ninth-minute goal.
In the late kickoff, Arnett Gardens were ahead 2-0 against Roaring River at sports time.
