Morris Meadows residents repair damaged Grange Lane amid safety fears

St. Catherine

Morris Meadows residents organised their own road-repair exercise on Tuesday morning, filling damaged sections of Grange Lane, which connects George Lee Boulevard with Lakes Pen.

Community members said the route has been left to worsen for years, forcing drivers moving between Spanish Town and Portmore to navigate potholes, tyre damage and unsafe conditions. The roadway is also a regular access point for people living in Morris Meadows, Happy Content and Grange Lane.

Residents said the state of the corridor has created serious safety concerns. They pointed to the death of a motorcyclist in a previous crash, which they believe was connected to the poor condition of the road.

The residents said their patching effort was intended to make travel less hazardous and easier for commuters. They are urging the responsible agencies to carry out proper, long-term repairs on the well-used roadway.
