In a letter to Pastor, a 19-year-old woman said a humiliating incident unfolded at her boyfriend's house. She wrote that they have been together since she was 17 and that he is twice her age. She said he was the first man she had sex with and that he helps to support her because she comes from a very poor family.
She explained that the man still lives with his mother and sister, while his father is in the US working as a truck driver. According to her, he invited her over on a day when he expected his mother and sister to be away at a funeral until late that night.
The young woman said she went to the house and found that he had already arranged food and music on his computer. After spending time together, they decided to have sex. Before that happened, she said, he asked her to wash him, and she agreed, removed her clothes, went into the bathroom with him, and bathed him.
When she finished drying him, she said she asked where the condom was. She wrote that he told her not to worry because he would pull out. She said she objected, called that too risky, and refused at first, but he complained that she was ruining the evening and she eventually gave in.
She said they had sex once and that he withdrew without ejaculating inside her. Even so, she wrote that both of them wanted to continue, so they started again. She said she heard a car arrive, but her boyfriend told her to stay calm.
Although the front door had been locked, she said his mother and sister came into the house and his mother found them both naked during sex. The woman said the mother stood at the bedroom door watching before either of them realised she was there. When the mother called out to her son, he jumped off the bed, and the teenager tried to cover herself with a sheet.
She said the mother told her, "Don't bother cover up," then walked away saying, "At least you all could have locked the room door." The boyfriend's sister also saw them, she added. The teenager said she felt deeply ashamed afterward and later phoned the mother to apologise for how she had behaved in the house.
According to the young woman, the mother told her she had nothing against her and would even like to see her son marry her because she is ambitious. She said she has not spoken to the sister and does not believe she could return to that house before marriage, if she ever goes back. She also wrote that her boyfriend later told her she had "the same thing" as his mother and sister, and that he was only sorry they had not been more careful because they would not have been discovered if they had stopped after one round.
In his response, Pastor said she had made a mistake but appeared to be in a steady relationship. He noted that the couple had been together since she was 17, that the man helps her financially, and that he got the impression the boyfriend respects her.
Pastor said the man had wanted them to spend that day together because he expected his mother and sister to return late from the funeral. He also told the young woman that she had taken a serious risk by agreeing to sex without a condom. Referring to the second round, he said that choice led directly to the moment when the mother and sister came home and found them in bed.
He said her apology to the mother was enough and that she did not need to do anything more. Pastor added that both the mother and daughter would likely remember what they had seen. He ended by telling her to be more careful going forward.
