Mount Pleasant lift inaugural 2026 Popeyes Challenge Cup
Mount Pleasant Football Academy closed the 2026 Popeyes Challenge Cup as the competition’s first champions, taking the spotlight at the end of the final on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
During the presentation ceremony, Mount Pleasant’s squad was called forward before being confirmed as winners of the inaugural tournament. Captain Kemar Foster received the trophy on behalf of the team as the players gathered to mark the achievement.
The success added another title to Mount Pleasant’s recent run of silverware. The broadcast noted that the club had previously won the Caribbean Cup and had fallen short of claiming the Premier League trophy before securing the new Popeyes Challenge Cup crown.
Foster was visibly pleased as he stood with celebrating teammates for the trophy moment. The presentation brought the first staging of the competition to a close, with the organisers indicating the event is expected to return next year.
