Granville woman hospitalised after police shooting during justice protest

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Unease has returned to Granville after reports that a woman was shot by the police a short time ago.
Accounts from the area indicate that officers struck the woman in the torso after she drove a Toyota Voxy toward them. The police took her to hospital; her condition had not been confirmed at the time of reporting.
The shooting happened while residents were again on the streets pressing for justice over the death of 17-year-old Tjey Edwards, who was shot and killed by the police during an operation on Mother's Day, 10 June.
The woman was wounded during that protest action.
