National Health Fund Tightens Cybersecurity After Hacker Group Claims Data Access

1 min read

The National Health Fund says it has contained a cybersecurity matter after a hacker group contacted the agency alleging it had accessed some NHF data.

Health Minister Christopher Tufton, speaking at Wednesday's post-Cabinet media briefing, said the issue is being investigated and that the NHF has acted on the reported threat. He said the fund told both the Government and the public that it moved quickly to bolster its cyber defences and tighten security arrangements already in place.

Tufton said work is still under way to establish how far the incident may have gone, with the relevant authorities assisting the NHF. The agency says safeguards have been put in place to secure its systems and limit any possible exposure.
