MANCHESTER, Jamaica - An elderly Manchester man died Sunday after a fall at a property on Woodlawn Road in George's Valley.
The police named him as 83-year-old Michael Williams, also known as "Mike", of Comfort district in the parish.
According to the police, the incident happened about 11:00 am while Williams was at a relative's home assisting with maintenance work. He reportedly went up to an area where two water tanks were positioned.
Investigators believe Williams lost his footing and dropped from the tank stand, landing on a rock. The impact left him with a wound to the forehead.
He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The case marks the second reported misadventure death in Manchester within a few days. On Thursday, 60-year-old Robert Dawes died in Balvenie Heights, Mandeville, after several lengths of steel being offloaded from a truck struck him.
