Health Ministry to stage over-60s walk at Harmony Park in Montego Bay
The Ministry of Health and Wellness will host a walk and workout session for Jamaicans aged 60 and older at Harmony Park in Montego Bay on Friday, May 29.
The event is scheduled to run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the city of St. James, with the ministry encouraging older residents to take part in light physical activity and spend time together.
According to the minister, the initiative is aimed at supporting the country’s ageing population by promoting movement, fellowship and a positive outlook. The invitation placed emphasis on helping older Jamaicans remain active, connected and in good spirits.
Participants have been told to expect workout sessions, prizes, surprises, gifts and opportunities for camaraderie during the morning programme.
The ministry said the gathering is intended to encourage over-60s to devote more attention to their own well-being, enjoy each other’s company and pursue a lifestyle that is peaceful, happy and physically fit.
