Patrick Brown play Indecent Proposal pulls South Florida crowds as Enoxh shines

South Florida audiences turned out in force over the Mother's Day weekend for two stagings of Patrick Brown's comedy-drama Indecent Proposal, mounted by Whirlwind Live Performances.

The first show was held at 8 pm on Saturday, May 9, at Everglades High School in Miramar. A second presentation followed at 6 pm on Sunday, May 10, at the Coral Springs Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Mother's Day observance.

Across both performances, patrons were treated to a mix of humour, energy, reflection and Caribbean stage entertainment. The production, written by Jamaican playwright Patrick Brown, featured Glen Titus Campbell, Sakina and Courtney Wilson, who carried the story for the audiences from opening moments through to the close.

Indecent Proposal used its comic edge to explore serious themes, giving theatre-goers plenty to laugh about while also leaving them with matters to think over after the curtain came down.

A major part of the weekend's response came from 16-year-old reggae performer Enoxh, who travelled from Jamaica for the shows. He delivered two lively and sincere sets that connected strongly with the large crowds.

His original track, "My Mother," written for the Mother's Day occasion, proved especially moving. The song drew loud applause, cheers and emotional reactions on both nights, strengthening the young artiste's bond with listeners in Jamaica and overseas.

DJ Mikey Mike of South Florida's Voice of the Caribbean 101.5 FM HD2 and 96.9 FM also played a key role in the atmosphere. Before showtime and during the break, his selections kept the venues upbeat, and he also worked as Enoxh's official DJ for the appearances.

Whirlwind Live Performances was credited for continuing to present Jamaican theatre and Caribbean culture to South Florida audiences with a polished live production. The turnout from the Caribbean community showed that support for stage plays and in-person entertainment remains strong.

Thanks were extended to patrons, supporters, sponsors and members of the production team who helped make the two presentations successful. The weekend's shared laughter, applause, music and togetherness gave the Mother's Day celebration a memorable Caribbean flavour.
