Phenomenal Power heads Hall of Fame Stakes field at Caymanas Park

Eight horses will contest Saturday’s feature on the 10-race card at Caymanas Park, with champion trainer Jason DaCosta, Gary Subratie and Adrian Prince each sending out two runners in the 30th Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Trophy.

The open-allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward is set over six furlongs as race nine, the penultimate event, at 5:15 p.m. First post for the full programme is 11:50 a.m.

DaCosta will saddle Dot Rackie and California Chrome. Subratie fields Desert of Malibu and Digital One. Prince has the ante-post favourite Phenomenal Power, quoted at two-to-one, along with Unbelievable Force.

Phenomenal Power, a three-year-old Derby colt to be ridden by two-time reigning champion jockey Raddesh Roman, arrives off a track-record run two weeks ago over seven and a half furlongs in overnight allowance company. He has worked comfortably since that effort and, despite moving up in grade, looks well placed to complete a hat-trick of wins.

California Chrome is expected to press the early pace in a bid to set up stablemate Dot Rackie, who scored over five and a half furlongs just under a fortnight ago. Digital One is also expected to figure, while Desert of Malibu and the improving Don Quesi could place among the principals.
