Police have confirmed that murder charges have been laid against the man accused of stabbing 13-year-old Excelsior High School student, Kemelia Paul, who died in hospital yesterday.
He is 28-year-old Kemar Mitchell, a carpenter of Harbour View, St. Andrew.
Head of Police Area 4, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Michael Phipps, confirmed to IRIE FM News that Mitchell was charged earlier this morning.
According to ACP Phipps, the teenager was stabbed after she intervened in a domestic dispute at her home in Harbour View. The incident occurred on May 9.
ACP Phipps is urging Jamaicans to seek mediation to resolve their disputes.
