Portmore constable missing after Spanish Town visit; Marks worker plan unapproved

A Portmore police officer has been reported missing after he did not come home from a trip to see his girlfriend on St. John's Road in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

Constable Kevin Williams also failed to report for duty over the weekend. Investigators have opened an inquiry into his disappearance.

Separately, Information Minister Dr Dana Morris Dixon said a plan to bring 10,000 skilled workers into Jamaica has not moved ahead. The idea, linked to Cabinet Minister Audrey Marks from her earlier posting as Jamaica's ambassador to the United States, has neither been debated nor cleared by Cabinet, Dixon said.

The Integrity Commission warned that limits on sharing key data with some public agencies are hampering anti-corruption work. The commission said the government has been slow to issue the designations those bodies need.
