Police in St Catherine are probing the death of Paulette Bryan, a 63-year-old Portmore woman whose body was discovered in Waterford on Thursday.
Bryan had reportedly last been seen about four days earlier near Kriterion Way in Waterford's Boston community.
Residents came across the decomposed remains and contacted the authorities. Investigators have not said what may have led to her death, and no additional details have yet been made public as the inquiry continues.
