Caymanas Special Economic Zone groundbreaking marks Jamaica logistics push
Jamaica's logistics sector moved forward with the start of work on the Caymanas Special Economic Zone (CSEZ), a development the Port Authority of Jamaica and the Government of Jamaica described as a major step for the industry.
The project builds on planning set out by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness in 2016 to position Kingston as a leading transshipment centre in the Caribbean.
The PAJ said it has been carrying out the wider strategy through port modernisation and added capacity. Officials said a groundbreaking was held for the 700-acre CSEZ site, framed as a world-class zone intended to open new economic opportunities for Jamaica.
