Popcaan lands on Drake’s Maid of Honour album with track Amazing Shape

Dancehall recording artist Popcaan has added another major international credit to his résumé, appearing on Canadian rapper Drake’s freshly issued project Maid of Honour.

He is heard on the sixth selection, Amazing Shape, in what fans see as the latest instalment in a durable creative link between the Unruly Boss and the OVO leader.

The guest spot sits inside a surprise three-album drop Drake unveiled on May 15, 2026. Alongside Maid of Honour, the package includes the long-awaited Iceman set and the companion release Habibti.

Drake and Popcaan have spent close to ten years trading verses across hip-hop and dancehall borders. Earlier joint work spans Controlla — especially the version that carried Popcaan’s original contribution — plus Twist & Turn, All I Need, We Caa Done, and now Amazing Shape.

Popcaan has also stayed connected to Drake’s OVO Sound label, keeping a visible place in the rapper’s wider creative network beyond individual songs.

The triple launch set off a wave of online chatter almost at once. Drake’s lyrics drew attention for pointed lines aimed at several prominent names, among them Jay-Z, DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar, and Rick Ross, spread across tracks on the new material.

Popcaan weighed in as well. On his official Instagram page he posted all three cover artworks with the caption: “6GAD is watching, Hot oil Business!” Supporters of both acts responded with strong enthusiasm.

For many dancehall listeners, Popcaan’s repeat presence on Drake releases underlines how far the genre reaches worldwide and how firmly the deejay holds ground in mainstream international markets.

He first gained notice through Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire imprint and has since grown into one of Jamaica’s best-known modern exports, working with high-profile overseas artists along the way.

Early commercial returns for Drake’s latest work have been sharp. Within hours of the unannounced release, streams surged and songs from all three albums moved quickly up platform charts and trend lists.

Analysts widely expect Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour to fuel another strong chart run for the Canadian star while giving featured Caribbean voices such as Popcaan exposure to even larger global listenerships.
